Summer 2010

School has been out for two days - how many times have you heard, "Mom, I'm bored?" If it's like my house, several times. Enough times that you want to go out and change your name! Luckily, there are several things to do that will occupy your children's time and energy and they are close by.

1. Tittabawassee Township Park

The park on Midland Rd. has shade, playgroud equipment, bathrooms and walking trails. What more do you need to keep busy on a sunny afternoon? They have some programs starting July 7th that run each Wednesday morning that are free of charge. Click here to read all about them.

2. Imerman Park

Imerman Park does require a fee to enter the park between Memorial Day and Labor Day, but it's only $2 per car. There is a playground for the kids, several walking paths that go in and around the woods and along the Tittabawassee River and the Bark Park for your dog! Get the kids and the dog tired all in one shot!

Dogs are required to be on a leash, unless inside the fenced area. Please clean up after your pet!

3. Williams Township Park

The Williams Township Park in Auburn is a great place to get out and ride! They have several paved trails which are inside of a fenced area. You can find a shady bench and let the kids ride bikes, scooters or roller blades and you don't have to run after them to see where they are! There is also a playground and picnic tables if you want to have lunch on your outing.

Park is located on 1080 Midland Rd., just west of Garfield Rd. in Auburn.

4. Longview Spray Park

This park is a gem! Lots of green grass and park benches and tables for a picnic on a sunny day! The spray park has jets, dump buckets and lots of secret tools to get cooled off in. Park operates all day long, every day during the summer months. Bathroom facilities are available onsite.

337 Lemke Street, next to Longview Elementary School off of Waldo and Bay City Rds.
